It’s funny but you probably already know us and you’ve probably already said hi to us in our past and current work lives. We’ve lived here for the past 9 years (already?) and couldn’t be happier living on our beautiful island. It’s why we’re excited to offer this service to our fellow islanders, neighbours and friends.
Blake, originally from Nanaimo, via Victoria, retired over 10 years ago after a career owning a successful adverting agency before pivoting to help startups in the tech community, with marketing and communications. After moving to Salt Spring 9 years ago, Blake continued his life long love of renovating and developing properties towards lower and middle income families.
When The Wine Cellar closed, and after talking to many past clients, it was clear there was a need for this business to startup again. So much for retirement!
Matt, originally from Duncan, via Victoria, was transferred to Salt Spring as the Meat and Seafood Manager of a BC grocery chain. After completing what he had set out to do, make the departments efficient, profitable and professional, it was time to change. Looking to pivot his career, Matt was asked to join another locally based business, Fresco Refrigeration, a thriving and growing company with an impeccable reputation for client satisfaction, superior service and value. Now working towards his level 3 certification, Matt continues his HVAC career while also recognizing the clear need for our craft winemaking service.
At The Wine Box, we’re hoping our new adventure helps fellow islanders make their own high quality craft wine in a fun, approachable and rewarding experience. Whether you’re new to winemaking or have made wine in the past, we want to provide a welcoming space and help guide you through each step. It’s our goal that clients appreciate our attention to detail, our relaxed atmosphere and our commitment to making a great product you’re happy to share with friends and family.
